
He wore a quiver of arrows on his back and held the following items in his hands: his bow in one hand, and in the other was a rose and a wedding ring. Here was to be Marwolaeth, but it was based on Nico Marlet's sketches of Hiccup for the second How to Train Your Dragon film, which I used as reference.


That and I looked to Saxon and Viking helmets for inspiration as well.Īnd the third one on the far right was a concept for one of my stories, particularly titled "The Arrow and the Rose". d… I even got to add a few twists to the design of the suit of armor that Taran wore in Hen Wen's vision in the water in "The Black Cauldron". That and I used a few sketches of Hiro Hamada from "Big Hero 6" in his supersuit for a bit of inspiration. Back in 2014, I drew the outfit while getting the comic started. The second one next to it is Marwolaeth in a suit of armor that he wore in the first quarter of the story and its comic adaptation.

Some of you may recall the first sketch of his armor I did back in 2010, which is right here: Well, I drew it again, and this time, I got it in a different pose. The first one on the left was the most recent sketch of the Horned King's armor I ever did a couple years back. These are a few sketches of three different outfits that Prince Marwolaeth wore in the story.
